Full Job Description
The ideal candidate for this position will support and promote the facility's quality improvement efforts. This individual will work with employees, suppliers and customers to develop improvements in quality and reliability of the manufactured Window and Door products. The candidate should be a self-starter, hands on and able to work with minimal supervision in data gathering, decision making, problem solving, quality performance reporting (and presentation) as well as support for process improvements to ensure the highest quality of products are some of the key responsibilities of the individual in this position. Previous knowledge of the window and door industry would be a definite asset. The successful candidate will help lead in all areas of improvement pertaining to the quality of the manufacturing process and will be required to do this safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complying with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements, legal requirements including policies, standards, rules, and programs
  • Ensure customer satisfaction while reducing costs
  • Create/improve visibility and control into quality processes across manufacturing operations and supplier networks
  • Minimize scrap, rework and returned materials
  • Build in complete product and process traceability into production process
  • Create/improve communication and collaboration across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and distribution
  • Standardized processes for responding to adverse events across the enterprise
  • Update business processes of quality as best practices emerge
  • Cross-functional continuous improvement teams are focused on improving enterprise quality processes
  • Monitor adverse events in real-time
  • Data collection from across manufacturing cells/departments
  • Operational metrics are linked with financial metrics
  • Document management, Traceability, Statistical process control (SPC), Dashboards
  • NC/CAPA (non-conformance and corrective & preventive action)
  • Automated product quality planning, Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar related equivalent will be required
  • Three to five-year experience in a manufacturing environment with a well-rounded background in the quality field
  • Previous experience with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards
  • Five years of Lean manufacturing experience
  • Strong Microsoft computer knowledge as well as knowledge of SPC (CPK, PPK)
  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal communication and customer service skills will be required
  • An understanding of KPI's relating to quality and customer satisfaction and an ability to drive measurable improvements in all areas of quality
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining standards, methods, testing and evaluation of a data driven quality program
