In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
About the RoleThe Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Technicians supporting the production of Electrophysiology (EP) catheters in a regulated medical device environment. This role drives daily engineering support, process stability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality products.
What You'll Work On- Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers/technicians supporting EP catheter manufacturing.
- Prioritize and assign engineering work to meet production, quality, and capacity goals.
- Oversee process ownership, documentation, validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and change control.
- Provide hands-on support for line issues, root-cause investigations, and CAPA activities.
- Analyze process data (yield, scrap, SPC, CPK) to improve performance and reduce variation.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, tooling, and process optimization projects.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and Abbott procedures.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain to support product and business objectives.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within medical devices or a regulated industry.
- Experience supporting complex assemblies or catheter-based device manufacturing.
- Demonstrated leadership capability (team lead, project lead, or formal supervisor).
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with EP catheters, cardiovascular devices, micro-assembly, polymers, bonding, or braiding.
- Strong background in validation, documentation, risk management, and structured problem-solving (DMAIC, 8D, 6).
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment with strong ownership and communication skills.

The base pay for this position is $86,700.00 - $173,300.00
