  • Estimated annual base pay: $145,000.00(minimum) - $181,000.00(midpoint) - $218,000.00(maximum)

Woodward is seeking a creative and collaborative Manufacturing Engineering Manager to help launch and grow a new aerospace manufacturing site in Greenville, SC. This leader will build and develop a high-performing engineering team in a collaborative manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, delivery, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical manufacturing expertise and an engaging leadership style that empowers teams, develops talent, and involves frontline employees in designing and implementing manufacturing processes and automation technologies. This individual will play a key role in establishing the site's operational foundation, improving productivity and process capability, and delivering the reliability and operational excellence our customers expect from Woodward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Work with leaders and senior engineers to implement and support systemic and process improvements to enhance product development velocity, ensure robust design culture, and pursue better ways of working through learning, adapting, and driving measurable progress.
  • Go and See Leadership: Actively engage with teams by showing up where the work happens, listening deeply, and understanding team needs to provide effective support.
  • Coach and Mentor Staff Leaders and Senior Engineers: Build trust, empower team members, and provide feedback to grow individuals to their full potential while maintaining a highly skilled and adaptable team using talent management systems, training matrices, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and Maintain Design Standards: Create, maintain, and improve design standards to ensure high-quality, compliant products while leveraging lessons learned to enhance future designs.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets to align with profit planning activities, assign resources effectively to meet business needs, and achieve the company's profitability objectives.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves technical and operational issues, considering their broader impact on the department and implementing effective solutions.
  • Cross Department Collaboration: Partners with other departments to integrate engineering initiatives with overall business objectives, ensuring seamless operational synergy.
  • In a flexible and cross-trained teaming environment, take a leadership role in sitewide decision making

  • Assist team members in cross training, with demonstrated depth in multiple manufacturing and operational roles


Successful candidates typically have:
  • 10+ years in manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • Aerospace background
  • Experience with leading an engineering team
  • Lastest in automation technologies incudling program logic controllers and robotics and automated PLC machinging centers
