Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary
APS is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development of scalable manufacturing processes for our next generation of automated pharmacy dispensing systems.
This role will serve as the primary bridge between Engineering and Operations, driving Lean Manufacturing initiatives, improving manufacturability, reducing product cost, and supporting the successful transition of products from prototype to full-scale production.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building manufacturing systems, solving complex problems, and leading continuous improvement initiatives in a growing organization.
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for electromechanical assemblies.
Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Design assembly cells, fixtures, tooling, and standard work.
Partner with Engineering to improve product manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
Lead cost reduction and value engineering projects, including Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) component evaluations.
Manage product sustainment activities, including end-of-life component replacement and re-engineering.
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, BOMs, routings, and work instructions.
Support prototype builds, new product introductions (NPI), and production launches.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, and Service to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
eQualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an electromechanical manufacturing environment.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, routings, and ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Experience with medical devices or other regulated manufacturing.
Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), New Product Introduction (NPI), and value engineering.
