Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our location in Arnprior, Ontario.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing specific manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices. This includes managing documentation, process training, continuous improvement initiatives, and various projects. The role plays a key part in addressing quality concerns, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and driving operational consistency across manufacturing activities. The Manufacturing Engineer contributes to maintaining an efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing environment.

Location:

This position is onsite in Arnprior, Ontario.

Day to Day:

Process Optimization & Productivity Enhancement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, focusing on enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and improving quality.
  • Monitor and update manufacturing processes to align with industry standards and evolving best practices.
  • Develop and present business cases for future capital investments and process upgrades.
  • Oversee procurement, installation, training, tooling, and factory acceptance of new equipment and technologies.
  • Track process performance metrics, including yield rates, variations, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Conduct employee assessments and provide training to ensure competency in operating equipment and adhering to safety standards.
  • Implement projects that support long-term improvements in manufacturing performance, including process automation, digitalization, and lean manufacturing principles.


Communication:
  • Provide regular updates to all stakeholders on the status and performance of equipment.
  • Deliver comprehensive project status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Offer well-informed recommendations for necessary repairs and establish realistic timelines for completion


Change Management:
  • Oversee and implement process changes in alignment with established change management procedures.
  • Develop and update documentation to accurately reflect process changes and support smooth transitions.
  • Ensure effective communication of all changes to relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Engage and involve key employees throughout the change process to ensure successful implementation.
  • Manage tooling inventories to meet production requirements, ensuring availability and cost-efficiency.
  • Facilitate the seamless introduction of new products by supporting the integration of tooling, planning, programs, and routing.


Health & Safety, Quality:
  • Ensure the timely execution of necessary repairs and recommend machine shutdowns when required to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
  • Identify and resolve machine-related issues, including providing solutions and recommending training to prevent recurrence.
  • Support corrective actions and conduct root cause analysis to address ongoing problems and improve processes.


Process Maintenance:
  • Ensure the completion of adequate and effective preventative maintenance and plan long-term service for equipment and processes.
  • Manage equipment modifications, order necessary parts, and coordinate contractors for maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure processes and equipment comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or college diploma in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical) or equivalent related discipline.
  • Proven experience 3-5 years in a manufacturing or process engineering role, with a track record of successfully managing equipment, optimizing processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with various manufacturing materials and an understanding of their impact on production efficiency and quality.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and modifications.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation, with the ability to understand and apply technical drawings to guide equipment modifications, process improvements, and troubleshooting.
  • CNC programming, MasterCam and machine shop experience would be considered an asset.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $129,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
