Job Purpose
We are hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in welding processes and new product launch to join our team in Goodfield, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement for new launch activity, ensuring weld quality, and supporting production efficiency. This role focuses on applying technical knowledge and hands-on problem-solving to optimize welding operations in a manufacturing environment with an increasing product range.
Key Responsibilities
Welding Process Optimization
- Develop, implement, and refine welding processes (MIG, TIG, robotic, and manual) to improve quality, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste.
- Select appropriate welding techniques, materials, and equipment for various applications
- Work closely with the tooling department to introduce new weld tools and optimize current tooling for quality builds
Production Support
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot welding issues and provide technical guidance.
- Support new product introductions by developing weld procedures and tooling requirements.
- Support plant agility with workstation layout and sequencing of operations in support of a seasonal order board.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead or participate in Kaizen initiatives focused on welding and fabrication.
- Analyze data to identify trends and implement process improvements.
- Review launch activities and drive improvement to embrace new product introduction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with hands-on welding or tooling experience
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CREO)
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and robotic welding processes
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Experience with robotic welding systems and programming
- Demonstrated Project Management and Capex exposure
- New product launch leadership
- Ability to work >50% on shop floor
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is USD $74,625.00 - $99,500.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
