About the RoleThe Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in creating CAM programs, developing and releasing internal manufacturing procedures, and overseeing Robocraftsman cells. This individual will implement continuous improvement strategies, utilizing lean methodologies to reduce waste. As the primary user of the Robocraftsman cells, the Manufacturing Engineer will identify limitations, recommend improvements to hardware and software teams, and test upgrades. This role works closely with the Robotic Process Engineering team and Production Technicians to ensure the timely delivery of parts to customers.
What You'll Do- Create forming and cutting tool paths using internal CAM tools.
- Develop and release manufacturing procedures for production teams.
- Oversee and take ownership of Robocraftsman cells, acting as the primary user.
- Drive continuous improvement and reduce waste through lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with the Product Team to identify cell limitations and recommend improvements.
- Test and validate hardware and software upgrades to ensure smooth integration into production.
- Partner with the Robotic Process Engineering team to troubleshoot and optimize cell performance.
- Work closely with Production Technicians to ensure timely and accurate production of parts.
- Maintain detailed records of changes, improvements, and tests related to Robocraftsman cells.
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing staff on new processes, tools, and systems.
What We're Looking For- B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 2 years of manufacturing experience in production-heavy environments.
- Hands-on experience designing, testing, and improving manufacturing processes to stay lean and efficient.
- Strong ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and mechanical engineers.
- Proficiency with CAD, CAM software, and CNC programming.
- Background in job shops or manufacturers with forming, machining, or sheet metal capabilities.
- Familiarity with Material Resource Planning (MRP) software.
- Strong technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Bonus Points For- Experience in a manufacturing engineer role at an ISO9001/AS9100 certified facility.
- Practical experience in a machine shop with a focus on quality standards.
- Knowledge of GD&T and precision assessment principles.
- Experience in lean, safety, and compliance activities.
- Experience authoring/revising technical documents, including quality procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Proficiency in surface modeling using CAD.
$80,000 - $115,000 a year
