What's in it for you:Develop robust and reliable manufacturing processes related to welding and painting processes to support regular operations, NPD programs, and productivity initiatives in the ThermoKing Greenville facility. The Manufacturing Engineer should constantly meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity metrics, and implementation schedule established by the project while being a mentor for the operations team in all welding and ecoat operations.
What you will do:- Apply highly technical skills in developing welding and painting processes achieving Process Control and Capability requirements, while meeting safety requirements.
- Define process parameters and specifications, approval protocols, runoff, and installation requirements for NPDs and capital equipment related to the weld and painting processes.
- Perform advanced problem solving using 6-Sigma, DOE, A3, 9 step problem solving, and 5-why tools to systematically determine root cause.
- Develop, maintain, and improve welding and painting operations through deep analysis of critical finishing requirements and specifications.
- Design/select best in class equipment and processes, define inspection protocols and develop process monitoring and support engineering, customer and design requirements.
- Analyze, develop and implement process improvements in painting operations for Scroll and Screw processes.
- Perform administrative tasks as part of project implementation: purchase orders and follow up (Capital, equipment, fixtures, and tools).
- Measure, analyze and improve indicators in SQDIP (SCRAP, FPY, DPU's, Downtime and Efficiency of painting lines equipment).
- Develop and update Process Flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Work instructions, Standard Works, and ergonomic studies related to machining and assembly processes. Follow up to the EHS scorecard metrics.
- Collaborate in Opex initiatives as VSAs, RIEs, and Gembas.
- Assure the setup process and apply SMED on welding fixture changes
What you will bring:- Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines
- Previous relative engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design
- Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships
- Growth mindset - desire to expand technical skillset
- Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus
- PFMEA experience preferred
