As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the development, validation, and scale-up of manufacturing processes for our innovative surgical device - directly contributing to product quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
What will you be doing?- Lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for advanced soft tissue repair device systems
- Partner with Research and Development and Quality teams to support design for manufacturability and ensure robust production processes
- Develop, validate, and implement equipment, fixtures, and tooling for assembly and inspection
- Support the transfer of processes from development into high volume manufacturing
- Execute root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address production challenges
- Support process validation, change control activities, and documentation in compliance with regulated medical device standards
What will you need to be successful?Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or a related field
Experience:
- Entry level to two years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process development
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks is preferred
Competences: - Familiarity with regulated environments such as medical devices is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean or DMAIC
- Ability to support process development and validation activities with guidance

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is
$65,000-$97,500 USD annually.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
