Full Job Description
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $68,000 - $100,00 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position Summary:

A Motivair Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes. Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting experiments, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, materials, and lean manufacturing principles. This includes conferring with equipment vendors, soliciting observations from operators, quality engineering, and customer feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with design team to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability, quality, and balancing functionality, cost, and production efficiency
  • Supporting member in the development of new product introduction (NPI)
  • Continuously identify areas of improvement through analysis of manufacturing operations, including, but not limited to, workflow planning, space requirements, personnel requirements, equipment layout, time studies, first time through performance, and scrap percentage to reduce cost, improve, and optimize productivity and quality
  • Assure product and process quality by establishing work instructions, process capabilities, designing finished- product testing methods, and validating manufacturing processes through pilot builds
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provide data-driven manufacturing engineering information when responding to internal and external inquiries and maintain resolution documentation
  • Assist in the implementation of end-of-line manufacturing tests, and maintain compliance to agency and applicable government regulations
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions, established procedures, and requesting outside services
  • Maintain product and process database by ensuring the documentation is up to date and stored in a central repository
  • Train production personnel as needed on flow manufacturing concepts, new equipment and processes, and data collection and usage

Who will you report to?

You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This role is an onsite position. You are required to report to the Cheektowaga, NY office 5 days a week.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering required
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects from design concept to final production

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Exposure to electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Able to employ or learn various testing and measurement equipment for electro-mechanical products
  • Experience in lean operations including problem solving techniques; Root Cause - 5 Why, PFMEA, 6 Sigma
  • Able to use data and statistics to improve industrial processes
  • Ability to read and write detailed work instructions, technical drawings, reports, business correspondence, and effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and/or external sources
  • Experience in automated and/or digital systems a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, continuous improvement, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with colleagues at all levels
