Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Working Pattern: Onsite

Working Location: Cypress, CA

Relocation assistance will be provided if applicable.

Position Summary:

As a Manufacturing Engineer for Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC), you will provide technical support to operations and execute manufacturing engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time (SQCD).

What you will be doing:
  • Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes, digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.
  • Maintain and/or govern Production Technical Packages (technical instructions, programs, SOPs, PFMEAs, etc) for all parts which clearly define the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm program.
  • Promote a culture of zero defects, ensure processes and methods are developed and deployed to support Right First Time manufacturing, and drive improvements with utilization of RRPS, DMAIC and Systems Engineering tools.
  • Work with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for as required.
  • Responsible for self-development to meet the required competencies for the role and continuously seeking to expand knowledge and experience to increase effectiveness in undertaking existing and new activities.


Basic Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Science, Technology or Engineering with 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering or CMC Manufacturing experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology or Engineering with 1+ years of Manufacturing Engineering or CMC Manufacturing experience, OR
  • Master's degree in Science, Technology or Engineering, OR
  • JD/PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering, OR
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or CMC Manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident


Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with the manufacture of Composites or Aerospace Components with coating operations.
  • Tooling/fixture design and prototyping for manufacture.
  • Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
  • Experience with Method Verification Approval process steps and considerations needed to complete equivalent or better fixed process changes
  • Proficiency in using statistical tools to assess process performance against specification limits and identify variations
  • Understanding of process capability analysis, including the ability to calculate and interpret key metrics such as Cp, Cpk, Pp, and Ppk.
