Full Job Description
Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer leads new tool introduction and ongoing tool optimization for fineblanking production and plays an active role in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process. This position supports production by launching new fineblanking tooling and driving continuous improvement of existing tools, and is responsible for document control and creating process routers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and improve tool and die designs based on customer specifications
  • Host design review meetings, document outcomes and update designs accordingly
  • Create detailed drawings for tooling and components
  • Support the Toolroom during tool build and provide documentation to support tool trials
  • Support a metallurgy focus to tooling solutions, including coatings and material selection
  • Drive, document and implement continual improvement on tooling and fineblanking processes with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in process improvement meetings and demonstrate initiative to improve productivity, profitability, efficiency and safety
  • Accurately maintain engineering files and documentation
  • Create and update process routers to support production and process optimization
Qualifications, Education, Experience
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience with computer engineering applications (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Experience with metal stamping and tool and die design
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings in both metric and imperial units
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles
  • Strong project management, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Technical writing experience and strong verbal/written communication skills

Salary range - $80,000 - $130,000 annually.
