Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer, TIMET, Toronto, Ohio

Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be the local M.E. within the area (plant) that is regarded as the specialist within their field with regards to specialist projects that deliver new technology, NPI or method improvement that supports daily improvement to key Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and Personnel values.

Essential Functions:

HSE/ Product Safety - Review manufacturing methods to drive down PHA scores in line with the zero-harm program.

Quality - Be an influential contributor to the Zero Defects program for their specific plant that include daily ZD reviews and be the key person to analyze the data required to implement the corrective action.

Cost and Delivery - Develop the manufacturing processes that will deliver the plant budget in their specific area with regards to yield and productivity.

Production System - Accountable within their area for maintaining the Manufacturing Engineering owned minimum standards (PFMEA, RFT, Control Plans, KPV and SPC.)

Technical Authority - Support the ME Leadership teams on Management of Change (MOC) process at plant level. Help with the creation and control of SOP's within their specific plant.

Toolbox - Utilize appropriate Lean / Six Sigma tools to identify and drive improvement at the plant: Value stream mapping, Voice of process, Root cause problem solving, FMEA, SPC, SMED, Line balancing, Kaizen, 6s, Etc.

Implement Strategy - Support the integration of planned Manufacturing Technology, Digital Technology and Product Introduction activities within their respective area (plant).

Minimum Standards / Best Practice - Drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practice and share this best practice with other plants at site level and beyond.

Knowledge/Qualification/Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field (other disciplines will be considered) and/or equivalent years of experience with metal processing.

5+ years of related experience desired

Six Sigma and/or Lean experience in a manufacturing setting

Experience:

Good understanding of manufacturing processes.

Has led project/activities across a range of Manufacturing Processes.

Has experienced manufacturing change (Method redesign e.g. SOP's etc)

1-2 years manufacturing or technical experience preferably within a metals manufacturing industry

Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing supply chain would be a distinct advantage
