Responsibilities

Full Job Description
POSITION: Manufacturing Engineer

LOCATION: Jupiter, FL.

STATUS: Salary Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Ownership of Hanwha Power's new-make and/or reconditioning turbine airfoil product lines throughout the development and serial production life cycle. Interact with suppliers and internal groups to develop and deliver HP airfoil products with a focus on quality, on-time delivery, and cost. Develop and build the knowledge base required for appropriate manufacturing best practices across the product line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Act as focal point for all assigned hardware or projects to assure quality, cost and schedule requirements are met. Create task schedules and lead/direct project team activities.

  • Facilitate and actively work to ensure all quality documentation (NCR's, SCAR's, PAR's) is processed in a timely manner. Work with product quality team to ensure all quality procedures are being followed by suppliers.

  • Lead product quality improvement activities. Collect and analyze production quality data, and work to identify and implement manufacturing process corrections using best industry practices.

  • Work with suppliers to ensure root cause analysis are performed to identify systemic issues and corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Conduct process audits and inspections at suppliers to ensure product quality. Actively work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and document results and pending actions.
  • Communicate both internally and externally to keep management, suppliers, customers, and team members informed of project needs/activities.
  • Create rework/repair plans, supplemental acceptance limits, drawing/specification change requests, and other manufacturing support documentation.
  • Work with Master Scheduler and Procurement to ensure hardware delivery requirements are up to date and consistent with business plan.
  • Work within the IPT environment to direct efforts for the development of new manufacturing processes to improve cost, quality, and durability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by Hanwha Power's EHS Training Matrix


Skills/Experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes and materials related to industrial gas turbine hardware. Investment casting experience desirable.

  • Experience with statistical process control applied to manufacturing processes
  • Experience with various root cause analysis and problem-solving tools with demonstrated results
  • Experience with measurement system analysis
  • Experience with auditing suppliers on manufacturing processes and inspection of components

  • Strong background in collaborating with Design/Development engineering teams.
  • Understanding of technical drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD & T) and industrial specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office suite
  • SAP, Teamcenter experience desirable
  • Domestic and international travel required up 20-30%.
