About the Role:
The Manufacturing Engineer will drive production performance, strengthen safety practices and implement standardized processes within a manual manufacturing environment. This role is highly hands on and located at our Phoenix, Garland, Plano and McKinney facilities. Will work directly on the shop floor to improve workflow, increase throughput, and mentor Operations personnel to deliver measurable results. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and enjoys building structure where it does not yet exist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks in manual operations and implement rapid improvements.
- Improve workstation design, material flow and cycle times.
- Increase output while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Lead focused initiatives to meet aggressive production targets.
- Operational Standardization
- Develop and implement standardized work instructions.
- Establish project tracking and accountability systems for engineering initiatives.
- Create repeatable processes to support growth and onboarding.
- Ensures improvements are documented and sustained.
- Ensures documentation meets QMS requirements.
- Safety
- Identify operational risks introduced by rapid growth.
- Improve ergonomics and reduce manual strain.
- Standardize safe work practices across shifts and teams.
- Engineering Leadership
- Provides daily structure and direction.
- Translate ideas into scoped, deadline driven projects.
- Hold multidisciplinary teams accountable to measure deliverables.
- Foster a culture of execution and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in manual production operation
- Proven record of delivering measurable productivity improvements
- Experience implementing standardized systems and developing documentation
- Ability to mentor and provide training
- Comfortable working directly on the production floor
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.).
- Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside.
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
