Job DescriptionJob Posting Title:Manufacturing Engineer ManagerLocation: Renton, WAWe are continuing to grow! We are currently accepting applications for an upcoming Manufacturing Engineering Manager position at our Renton location.
Job Description:As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will manage a team of engineers responsible for the development and improvement of the composite part fabrication processes, methods, and tooling. This includes oversight of design of tools, shop floor manufacturing support, process development and introduction of new products.
Essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job.
Tasks:- Direct and support Manufacturing Engineers' activities for timely success.
- Direct and implement all manufacturing technical requirements.
- Responsible to develop tools, processes, machines and equipment to integrate the facilities and systems for producing quality product with the optimum expenditure of capital.
- Review, approve and improve engineering designs with Manufacturing Engineers for product productivity.
- Function as engineering representative for site leadership team reporting to Site Director of Operations and Director of Engineering.
Required Qualifications- Process development, PFMEA, Error-Proofing, Value Stream Mapping, Statistical Process Control
- Experience and capability to rapidly introduce lean manufacturing practices, from 5S foundation to batch size 1 process design
- Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly.
- Experience with Catia and Solidworks CAD, PDM systems, PLEX (similar to SAP) is desired.
- Knowledge of metallic or composite manufacturing techniques, processes, equipment, and other processes such as: machining, welding, sheet metal forming, tube bending and stamping.
Preferred Qualifications- Understanding basic industrial engineering practices, such as, time studies, statistical analysis, ergonomic impacts, and value engineering principals
- Advanced understanding industrial engineering practices, such as, time studies, statistical analysis, ergonomic impacts, and value engineering principals.
- Ability to review drawings, models, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures and activities.
- Composite Prepreg Layup & Cure, Trim & Assembly Experience.
- Detailed understanding of GD&T.
- Ability to implement continuous improvements by the use of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen methods
- Ability to perform safety, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), Process Capability and Total Product Maintenance (TPM) for new and existing equipment.
- Problem Solving/Statistical Analysis.
- Experience in Work Instruction creation.
- Development of Engineering Procedures/Policies.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication skills; able to prepare technical documents for customers.
- Proven track record of managing engineering team in fast paced aerospace environment.
EducationB.S. Degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or similar discipline.
