SUMMARY:Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer II - Urethane Process Support position is a mid-level engineering position on the Manufacturing Engineering Team. This position will support Globe urethane casting efforts, helping to troubleshoot all issues related to casting, identify improvements to casting processes, and ensuring establishment and supporting adherence to all documentation related to casting.
This role will lead and contribute to projects designed to enhance current processes on the manufacturing floor as well as transitioning company goals from executive ideation into the scale-up of new processes, equipment and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Supporting Urethane Cast Processes
- Serving as POC on Manufacturing Engineering Team for both urethane hand casting and processor casting.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with urethane casting across several different casting methods. Taking a leading role CAPA efforts affecting casting.
- Evaluating current manufacturing processes to identify variables that influence inefficiencies, non-conformances, and the process at large.
- Developing controls to maintain an effective and consistent manufacturing process across different areas of production.
- Seeking improvements to reduce costs
- Utilize process improvement frameworks such as
- Point person on Manufacturing Engineering team support lab quality testing, helping to analyze results when needed and facilitate timely completion and submittal of lab testing data needed for customer submittals.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:- SolidWorks or other 3-D design software is desired.
- Ability to read, interpret and analyze customer and industry specifications
- Excellent communication skills and able to interact with diverse groups
- Ability to understand and work with chemical processing equipment and able to troubleshoot issues with material flow, density, pressure, and temperature.
- Experience with equipment gauges such as flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature probes, load cells, level monitoring equipment, etc.
- Knowledge Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Prior experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S manufacturing practices
- Able to maintain a data driven mindset to approach problems from a quantitative first view.
- Proficient in basics MS Excel with a strong desire to build upon current skills.
- Experience in data analytics and data analytics software (such as Minitab) strongly desired but not required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- BS in engineering
- 3-5 years of related work experience in manufacturing and/or project management.
- Extensive experience in process engineering, including work instruction generation, process development and diagrams, and process flow.
- Previous work in specifying and onboarding new equipment.
- Prior work experience with elastomers, urethane casting & machining, thermoplastics or epoxy resins is desired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to walk through a large manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.
TRAVEL:- Minimal, may be required on a rare occasion.
