About the role:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team in Maple Grove, Minnesota. In this role, you will support and lead initiatives focused on the daily performance of products, processes, materials and equipment while helping drive production goals related to safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity. You will routinely partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes that support business and production objectives.

This is an on-site role based in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. This role will not support relocation.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Monitor the performance of equipment, machines and tools to identify and correct issues that contribute to nonconforming parts, low yields or product quality concerns.
  • Troubleshoot new and existing product and process issues related to design, materials or manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to business goals and product support by applying tools and methodologies such as process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and value improvement projects.
  • Prepare reports and maintain process and test documentation.
  • Summarize and analyze test results, draw conclusions and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Identify, implement and manage equipment requirements that support production goals.
  • Collaborate with research and development, process development, quality, production, regulatory, equipment engineering, supply chain and marketing teams to support project success.


Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably manufacturing, electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering and problem-solving principles, data analysis and production flow tools, including Lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions and incorporate ideas from cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated initiative to identify, prioritize, communicate and complete improvement opportunities.


Preferred qualifications:
  • Internship or other relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present ideas using visual communication methods.
  • Experience troubleshooting, analyzing and repairing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
