Manufacturing Engineer - Cutting & NestingPosition PurposeThis position is responsible for leading and coordinating Manufacturing laser cutting and nesting operations on the shop floor in heavy manufacturing and fabrication industry. Aims to achieve business goals through focusing on latest technology of laser cutting machines, connected factory systems and efficiency in manufacturing using automated systems. The position is responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation and supporting of laser cutting and nesting projects in field of Heavy Fabrication functions.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities- Select right solution for improving the shopfloor processes using automation
- Operate and improve laser and cutting operations online and offline
- Troubleshooting of the utilization of machines and improving the efficiency of nests
- Promote good work practices for advanced manufacturing plant
- Develop concepts in AI assisted nesting
- Set and manage training programs to train new team members
- Promote flexibility in the team
- Ensure performance standards are met
- Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports
- Knowledge on Fabrication processes like welding, cutting, forming, machining etc
- Experience in new product development, process development
- Develop and maintain visual management for shopfloor
- Developing and implementing the Standard Operating Procedure for the fabrication shop
- Actively pursue the elimination of waste through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniques
- Liaise with suppliers on performance and cost improvements
- Conduct implementation, installation for new plant equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of fabrication and/or manufacturing engineering experience in a relevant industry.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting automated manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, process improvement, and engineering best practices.
- Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing engineering experience within a heavy fabrication environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with robotic welding, industrial automation, and/or Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Experience implementing automation solutions to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
