Full Job Description
Reporting: Engineering Supervisor

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

This position is responsible for managing new product introductions, coordinating all aspects of a project to meet customer expectations and deadlines. This will include working with customers on technical issues and ensuring manufacturing processes will meet customer expectations. This role is also responsible for leading continuous improvement activities and engineering projects that support the manufacturing operations that include metal fabrication, welding, machining and assembly cells.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical leader in best practices.
  • Develop and standardize work procedures.
  • Improve manufacturing methods, tooling, materials, and fabrication processes.
  • Create and revise mechanical designs and drawings.
  • Problem solving, facilitate, lead investigation and root cause analysis and implementation of solutions with a proven methodology.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and engineering projects that support our manufacturing operations.
  • Continually evaluate and develop manufacturing methods to eliminate waste and thereby improve product quality, lead-time and cost in a safe manner.
  • Demonstrate and ensure safe work practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of plant engineering experience.
  • Powder coat paint process experience is highly desirable.
  • Must possess problem solving skills.
  • Execute projects and product development.
  • Experience with manufacturing product flow, ideally in Welding and Paint application.
  • Experience with mechanical designs, layouts, and specifications.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling tools.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and meeting management skills.
  • Superb project management skills.
  • Application of DMAIC method and tools in current assignments is highly desirable.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels.

Position will be primarily working in a sitting position for up to (6) plus hours per day. On occasions will be required to move throughout the facility. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs. in the proper ergonomic position.
