Manufacturing Engineer
Location- Palmdale, CA
Clearance- Secret
This program requires US CitizenshipWorks in a collaborative, cross functional environment to design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes for complex assemblies and equipment installations. Drives adoption of advanced technologies-including automation, robotics, and computer aided manufacturing tools-to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for assembly, machining, electrical build, and equipment installation operations.
- Implement new technologies (automation, robotics, CAM software, digital manufacturing tools) to improve throughput, quality, and cost performance.
- Create and analyze 3D model based definitions to develop digital work instructions and optimize build sequences.
- Define operational procedures using knowledge of materials, tooling, and automated processes to support production excellence.
- Evaluate equipment and tool performance, including IoT enabled devices, to ensure efficiency and reliability; identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Use factory data and analytics to develop statistical process control (SPC) methods and continuous improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with product design teams to provide manufacturability input, influence design concepts, and ensure alignment with production capabilities.
- Support cross functional teams including Industrial Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, Quality Assurance, and Production Operations.
Required Experience & Skills- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with cross functional teams (Industrial Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, QA, Production).
- Hands on experience with manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, electrical harness fabrication, routing, systems installation, and/or final assembly.
- Demonstrated ability to develop visual work instructions for manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency with Teamcenter and CATIA (or similar PLM/CAD tools).
- Strong understanding of materials, tooling, and automated manufacturing processes.
- Ability to analyze production data and apply SPC, data analytics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Position Details: - Pay Rate / Range:$85-$98/hr
The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
