Full Job Description

Join nVent in Aberdeen, NC, and become part of a team focused on delivering top electrical solutions. As a Manufacturing Chemical Engineer, you will work closely with manufacturing and maintenance groups to improve and streamline our processes. This role ensures smooth production and strengthens our dedication to quality and safety.

What you will experience in this position:

  •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and optimize copper bonding, plating, and wireline processes.

  • Build, monitor, and continuously improve production processes, including surface preparation, electroplating/copper bonding, heat treatment, straightening, and wireline operations.

  • Diagnose process and equipment problems, ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

  • Analyze process data to maintain consistent product quality, finding opportunities to improve yield and reduce scrap.

  • Implement cost reduction initiatives passionate about raw material utilization, chemical consumption optimization, and waste minimization.

  • Provide hands-on technical support to daily operations, ensuring stable production of high-quality copper-bonded ground rods that meet ASTM/UL standards.

  • Guide Lean and ongoing improvement projects within assigned areas, emphasizing Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Cash (SQDCC).

  • Apply root cause analysis and statistical methods to address process variability and production challenges.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience 

  • Background in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred

  • Experience using engineering and business tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Excel
