This position reports to:Senior Business Controller
ABB is searching for an experienced Business Controller with a background in Manufacturing to support our Ormond Beach, FL facility (100M+ in revenue)!
As part of the plant management team, you will support the manufacturing unit operations by managing the controlling department and providing analysis and guidance on financials to support operational decision-making. You will also ensure strong controls and financial transparency while driving the business results to improve performance in a sustainable manner.
This role will need to be able to work an in-person schedule out of our Ormond Beach, FL manufacturing facility. #LI-Onsite
Key responsibilities:- Business Performance: Monitors all financial aspects of the manufacturing unit including product costing, inventory and other operational KPI's while providing insight and analysis to support operational decision-making. Identifies issues and advises management on action plans and operational strategies for a proper resolution. Responsible to drive cost reduction, productivity optimization and capital efficiency projects / initiatives.
- Financial Reporting: Establishes and oversees processes and tools necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and related business information in line with defined standards & financial closing schedules. Provides monthly forecasts and annual budgets based on business guidance.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley [SOX], US GAAP and all applicable ABB policies. Taking the lead in sustaining the alignment with Accounting Policy, Internal Controls and Assurance principles. Shares functional best practices and lessons learned across the ABB organization and ensures transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
- OHS and Integrity: Supports a safe working environment, continuous HSE improvement processes and integrity performance across the plant. Personally adheres to a highly ethical environment and lives the ABB values and Group standards.
- People/Staffing leadership and development: Ensures that the area of responsibility is organized and properly staffed. Experienced and understands his/her role in driving the strategy and providing a transparent environment. Guides, motivates and develops direct/indirect subordinates.
- Risk management: Assesses business risk exposure and defines risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance in own area of responsibility.
Requirements for the position:- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or accounting is required.
- A professional certificate is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in the areas of business, finance, operational controlling and/or accounting in a manufacturing environment (this manufacturing experience is required).
- A structured and a result oriented leader with strong analytical and operational controlling skills.
- Change management experience is a preference.
- Relevant international experience and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Business oriented mindset to support business development.
- A strong Microsoft Office/computer skills and a solid ERP/SAP knowledge.
- Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.
