Manufacturing Automation Engineer II

As a Manufacturing Automation Engineer II at our facility in Hannibal, MO, you will design and develop our next-generation of custom manufacturing equipment to produce our newest and most innovative products as well as upgrade existing equipment and processes to further our automation initiatives. You will be working in our Manufacturing Engineering Team, where you will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity and technical prowess to create manufacturing solutions and capabilities that will deliver world-class products and performance to our customers and our business.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead medium to large projects to develop custom manufacturing equipment ranging from stand-alone operations to fully automated manufacturing systems.
  • Work effectively within a cross-functional, operations and engineering team as an equipment automation engineering subject matter expert.
  • Design, implement and validate solutions to improve the performance of existing manufacturing equipment.
  • Capture manufacturing process and equipment knowledge that can be reused and shared across projects, teams, and manufacturing locations.
  • Create manufacturing equipment engineering projects plans and budgets.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with preferred 3-5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Extensive automation experience. Programming PLC's, HMI's, temperature controllers, vision systems and robots.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with a broad range of applications, customers, suppliers and team members.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects of varying size, scope and complexity.
  • Experience with the use of lean manufacturing tools and principles.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD for designing and documenting manufacturing equipment layouts, mechanical components, and electrical schematics.

Desired Qualifications and Attributes
  • Electrical panel design experience.
  • Background in machinery and manufacturing system design.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and statistical techniques used in manufacturing (i.e. FMEA's, DRBFM's, process flow maps, SPC, control charts, process capability, MSA, Gauge R&R).
  • Lean Product Development experience is a plus.
  • LabVIEW programming experience is a plus.
