Warby Parker is on the lookout for a Managing Optometrist to lead a team of eye care experts (which may include a combination of part/full time optometrists and Optometric Technicians) at one of our high volume locations. In this role, you'll help guide our talented team of eye doctors and lead the execution of operational initiatives that help us provide best-in-class patient care. What you'll do:
  • Execute and implement strategic clinical and business initiatives to ensure that the store has the availability our patients need, that our doctors are providing best in class comprehensive eye exams and patient experiences, and that our patients leave the retail location with all the products necessary for their vision and eye care needs
  • Work closely with eye doctors to encourage their engagement and provide professional and personal development that sets them up for success
  • Partner with Warby Parker OD Leadership and Retail Field Leaders to improve doctor operations, the patient experience, eye exam growth for your retail location
  • Ensure we are meeting operational KPIs (such as eye exam bookings or patient experience scores)
  • Facilitate onboarding and training for new ODs and Optometric Technicians as well as provide ongoing professional development, mentorship, support and performance management
  • Optimize our doctor coverage by assisting with recruitment and assessing our OD schedule
  • This role is a mix of clinical time, business acumen, and leadership


Who you are:
  • A Doctor of Optometry with 2+ years of clinical practice and 1+ years of leadership experience
  • Licensed to practice in the state which aligns with the store of responsibility
  • Equipped with strong clinical skills
  • Able to lead, influence, and mentor ODs (with a proven track record!)
  • Empathetic and thoughtful-you're able to connect with others and resolve sensitive issues all while promoting our core values
