Position Description

Plans and directs the overall operation of a complex department and provides leadership for staff members. Meets ORP
eligibility requirements. Under executive direction, performs highly varied administrative duties involving the use of
independent judgment and professional skills. Responsible for all employees assigned to area.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Manages a minimum number of major gift prospects moving prospects through cultivation cycle (discovery, cultivation, ask and stewardship).
  • Facilitates meetings and projects with donors and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, school Deans and the Office of Institutional Advancement to ensure gifts and donations are managed appropriately.
  • Will guide potential donor and prospects through the giving process including cultivation, discovery, solicitation, ask and stewardship.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive program designed to cultivate the involvement of alumni and medical residents with TTUHSC El Paso.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive stewardship plan designed to cultivate and engage donors and alumni with TTUHSC El Paso.
  • Responsible for entering contact reports to ensure record keeping in the advance system.
  • Creates content and manages appeals for TTUHSC El Paso. Oversees concept, content layout and mailing for projects, other duties as assigned.
  • Meets fundraising goals. Plans, coordinates and evaluates development goals $1 million in donations annually.
  • Will meet goal for number of face-to-face visits; 75 face-to-face per year visits.
  • Will solicit a minimum number of major gifts annually which will contribute to total amount raised for the year ($1million).
  • Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements for this position.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSCEP OPs, etc.).
  • Personally demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to make decisions that reflect positively and appropriately on the institution.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and Advance database system.


Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred. Seven years progressively responsible management experience required. Education beyond bachelor's level may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
