Position Purpose

The Managing Director - Product Management serves as a senior leader within the BM Technologies organization with specific accountability for the "product portfolio" below:
• BankMobile checking and savings, targeting disbursement recipients and migration to everyday banking
• BankMobile [checking, savings, lending, investments, etc.], extending the brand to address open market opportunities
• Options prepaid card, targeting disbursement recipients
• NextGen direct banking platform

This leader is accountable for the strategy, growth, financial performance, and evolution of the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and regulatory requirements. Serves as a cross-functional leader across Engineering, Operations, Customer Success, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, Fraud, and external partners, establishing priorities and aligning resources to deliver measurable financial, customer, operational, and strategic outcomes in a regulated environment. Partners directly with the BM Tech Chairman and executive leadership on portfolio strategy, investment priorities, financial performance, significant business trade-offs, and growth opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategy, Growth & Innovation
• Defines and drives long-term vision, growth strategy and strategic direction for the product portfolio, driving innovation to leverage/monetize assigned product portfolio
• Aligns portfolio strategy with business and financial objectives, customer needs, regulatory constraints, and evolving fintech trends (AI, open banking, embedded finance)

P&L / Portfolio Management
• Owns the product line P&L accountable for financial performance and budget outcomes across the assigned portfolio, translating business objectives into strategies and investment priorities that drive revenue, profitability, engagement, and retention.
• Manages product economics defining monetization and pricing frameworks
• Establishes KPIs and financial and operational performance targets, monitoring revenue, profitability, acquisition, activation, adoption, engagement, retention, customer satisfaction, and other key business outcomes.
• Communicates business and portfolio performance, financial results, strategic opportunities, material risks, and recommended actions to the BM Tech Chairman, executive leadership, and other key stakeholders.

Market Intelligence & Research
• Analyzes market trends, competitors, and industry dynamics
• Leverages customer research, analytics, segmentation, and business intelligence to shape strategic priorities and investment decisions, identifying attractive customer segments, markets, products, and adjacencies
• Develops and presents executive-level market, competitor, customer, and strategic assessments

Product Roadmapping & Lifecycle Management
• Establishes the portfolio roadmap and investment priorities based on strategic, financial, customer, technology, regulatory, and operational considerations
• Ensures business and customer needs are effectively translated into executable product and technology plans
• Monitors emerging fintech technologies (AI, ML, blockchain, embedded finance) and assess their strategic applicability for adoption
• Provides strategic oversight across the full product lifecycle, from concept and investment through launch, growth, and maturity
• Evaluates product and portfolio performance and directs investment, enhancement, repositioning, or end-of-life decisions

Cross-Functional Business Leadership/Go-to-Market (GTM)
• Provides business leadership across the cross-functional teams, evangelizing product strategy and ensuring organization-wide alignment on product portfolio objectives
• Leads cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Sales, and Customer Support, establishing launch governance and ensuring organizational delivery readiness
• Partners with sales on positioning, messaging, pricing variations, and launch activities
• Partners with Customer Support to reduce contacts and improve resolution paths through better workflows, self-serve tooling, and servicing experiences
• Partners with Finance, Accounting, and Operations to ensure product economics, settlement, reconciliation, exception management, controls, and financial reporting requirements are incorporated into business and product decisions

Performance Optimization & Analytics
• Drives mindset and practice of continuous optimization based on data and experimentation
• Uses data, analytics, customer research, experimentation, and financial analysis to identify opportunities to improve revenue, conversion, engagement, retention, operational efficiency, and customer experience
• Establishes a test-and-learn culture and promotes structured experimentation to inform strategic and product decisions

Authority, Impact, Risk:
• Accountable for the financial performance, strategic direction, and business outcomes of the managed product portfolio
• Responsible for product decisions affecting customer experience, operational efficiency, and compliance (KYC/AML/BSA); ensures alignment with regulatory expectations.
• Accountable for business and product launch readiness and ensures alignment across cross-functional teams, regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements
• Oversees initiatives tied to regulatory audit remediation and ongoing control enhancements, ensuring traceability, audit trails, and evidence of compliance.
• Provides strategic direction and business input into vendor selection, commercial negotiations, performance management, and renewals

Key Relationships:
• Provides business leadership across Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, Finance, Accounting, Customer Support, Fraud to drive portfolio priorities
• Maintains direct communication with the BM Tech Chairman and executive leadership regarding financial performance, strategic priorities, risks, investment decisions, and recommended actions in alignment with business objectives

Managerial Accountability:
• Provides leadership and strategic direction for the BM Technologies business and assigned product portfolio.
• Establishes priorities and aligns cross-functional resources against BM Tech's strategic and financial objectives.
• Creates executive alignment on investments, growth opportunities, product decisions, business risks, and strategic trade-offs.
• Communicates performance and recommendations to the BM Tech Chairman and executive leadership and, as requested, presents to the Board and at other senior stakeholder forums.
• Manages team (if applicable) and provides mentorship and strategic direction to team members supporting the business.

Job Specifications:

Required:
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, technology, data analytics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in product management, digital banking, fintech, financial services, strategy, or related business leadership roles, including demonstrated leadership responsibility for significant products, portfolios, or business initiatives
• Proven experience launching and scaling fintech or financial-services products and portfolios, with demonstrated measurable outcomes across revenue, profitability, customer growth, conversion, engagement, retention, or operational performance
• Strong executive communication skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial, strategic, customer, operational, and risk considerations and present recommendations to senior leadership
• Experience operating in regulated change environments, including compliance reviews, audit readiness, and remediation execution (e.g., BSA/AML-related enhancements).
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and product economics skills.
• Strong technical and data fluency, with the ability to understand APIs, data models, digital banking architectures, analytics, and technology dependencies sufficiently to guide strategic decisions and engage effectively with Engineering and Technology leadership
• Understanding of fintech regulatory frameworks (KYC, AML, BSA, UDAAP), risk control expectations, and secure product design
• Experience with payment rails, onboarding flows, money movement, and identity/authentication journeys (aligns with common industry expectations)

Preferred:
• Master's degree in a quantitative or business discipline (e.g., Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, MBA) preferred
• P&L management experience
• BaaS, onboarding, payments experience
• Experience with card programs, onboarding flows, KYC/AML technology, or banking core systems.
• Experience with data platforms (BigQuery, Tableau), technical debugging, or API-based features.
