Managing Director, Derivatives (Commodities)
Overview:
Our Capital Markets team is looking for a Managing Director, Commodity Derivatives. This individual will be a key player within the Commodity Derivative Product group and be responsible for structuring and executing a broad range of Commodity Derivative Risk Management strategies for Capital One's corporate clients. In addition, this role maintains direct contact with a personal portfolio of customers and provides Risk Management services for these customers.
Responsibilities:
Deliver product and structuring expertise of customer hedging requirements, offering tailored solutions/strategies to meet specific/unique client needs.
Develop strong partnership with the Commodities trading desk to ensure “real-time” communication and seamless execution at competitive pricing.
Maintain direct contact with a personal portfolio of customers. Structure and implement risk management strategies for these customers.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior management and LOB heads to leverage cross-sell opportunities.
Regularly participate in calls with Relationship Managers to analyze client funding and risk management opportunities.
Partner with key stakeholders to ensure the business operates in compliance with second line governance, internal audit requirements and regulatory exams.
Manage a portfolio of risk management products that meet the needs of its corporate customers. Lead effort to expand product capabilities when necessary.
Accountable for monitoring policies, procedures and systems to ensure that applicable regulations are met and internal controls are in place.
Assist in the development and implementation of risk management training programs for Capital One Relationship Managers and other persons critical to the Bank’s mission.
Establish strategic partnerships with other financial institutions in order to provide the full range of products and services required by Capital One customers.
Keep abreast of industry trends and issues by reviewing industry periodicals and information, attending industry seminars, and meeting with industry leaders.
Exercise the usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.

Masters degree in business, finance, economics, or accounting
CPA or CFA
At least 13 years of experience marketing Commodity Derivatives to corporate clients
Strong knowledge of Swap Dealer rules and regulations

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York, NY: $350,000 - $400,000 for Managing Director, Derivatives
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
