The COO Business Manager and Transformation Projects serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CM COO and senior leadership team. This role is responsible for driving strategic priorities, coordinating enterprise-wide initiatives, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and ensuring seamless execution across Capital Markets businesses and functions.

Operating at the intersection of strategy, governance, communications, and execution, the Business Manager ensures alignment across business leaders, partner groups, and regional leadership teams while helping translate business priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

The role requires exceptional business acumen, relationship management skills, executive presence, and the ability to navigate complex organizational and regulatory environments.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Partner with the CM COO and Executive Leadership Team to develop and execute strategic priorities.
  • Drive enterprise and business-level initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Monitor progress against strategic objectives and identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate annual business planning, operating reviews, and leadership offsites.
  • Support decision-making through analysis, synthesis of data, and executive recommendations.

Executive Leadership Support
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CM COO and senior leadership team.
  • Prepare executive briefings, presentations, board materials, and leadership communications.
  • Ensure leadership meetings are focused, action-oriented, and aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Manage and track key executive commitments, decisions, and follow-up actions.

Enterprise Coordination & Governance
  • Facilitate collaboration across Capital Markets businesses, Corporate Banking, Global Markets, Investment Banking, Risk, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and Technology.
  • Coordinate governance forums and executive committees.
  • Support regulatory, risk, audit, and control-related initiatives.
  • Promote disciplined execution and accountability across the organization.

Organizational Effectiveness
  • Lead initiatives to improve operating effectiveness, decision-making, and organizational performance.
  • Drive change management and readiness activities for major transformation efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate duplication, and improve team effectiveness.
  • Partner with HR on talent management, succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage COO financials and year-end processes

Communications & Stakeholder Management
  • Develop executive communication strategies supporting business priorities and organizational change.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across leadership forums, town halls, employee communications, and external engagements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the CM COO in meetings and initiatives as required.

Special Projects & Transformation
  • Lead high-priority strategic projects on behalf of the CM COO.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver business and enterprise initiatives.
  • Conduct market, competitor, and industry analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and other transformational initiatives as required.


Qualifications

Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Capital Markets, Financial Services, Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting executive leadership teams.
  • Deep understanding of Capital Markets businesses, products, clients, and operating environment.
  • Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence at senior executive levels without direct authority.
  • Strong financial, operational, and analytical acumen.

The salary range for this role is $275,000 up to $350,000 USD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)
