The Opportunity

Rex is seeking a Managing Director, Capital Formation to build and lead the firm's intermediary distribution engine across independent broker-dealers, hybrid wealth platforms, and tax-advantaged channels. Rex has built a disciplined multifamily investment platform on conservative underwriting and deep, direct investor relationships. This leader exists to turn that foundation into programmatic capital: durable aqueducts of passive LP equity that flow to Rex offerings deal after deal, rather than capital raised one transaction at a time. This role is anchored by three core mandates. First, build the distribution infrastructure: retain and manage a managing broker-dealer, secure third-party due diligence approvals, and clear home-office product committees so Rex earns a place on approved sponsor shelves and every subsequent offering moves through expedited review. Second, activate the selling network: execute selling agreements with independent broker-dealers and hybrid advisory platforms, architect share class structures that serve both commission-based representatives and fee-based advisors through a single desk, and extend Rex's reach onto alternative investment platforms. Third, own the tax-advantaged product pipeline: partner with acquisitions and legal counsel to structure multifamily assets into Delaware Statutory Trusts for 1031 exchange investors, Reg D income funds, and Qualified Opportunity Zone funds that give advisors a home for client gains from business sales, concentrated stock, and other liquidity events. Across all three mandates, this leader wholesales directly to top-producing representatives and wealth advisors while building a high-performing internal and external wholesaling bench. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of alternative investment distribution experience, established relationships with home-office due diligence teams and managing broker-dealers, command of Reg BI and fiduciary dynamics, fluency in 1031, DST, and QOZ mechanics, and active FINRA registrations. They combine principal-level credibility with the relentless drive of a builder, an architect of systems who protects investor trust with fiduciary discipline and holds their team to uncompromising standards. Must be missionary to the bone, fully aligned with Rex's mission and relentless in pursuit of it. Fully remote.

About the Role

Rex is hiring a Managing Director, Capital Formation to convert a track record of direct, relationship-driven fundraising into a repeatable, programmatic distribution engine. The mandate is to build the infrastructure, relationships, and product shelf that let intermediary capital flow to Rex offerings continuously, rather than being rebuilt from scratch on every raise.

This role owns outcomes across broker-dealer relations, selling network activation, product structuring, and wholesaling execution, ensuring speed, discipline, and fiduciary rigor at every stage. You will operate as the connective tissue between Rex's acquisitions and legal teams, its managing broker-dealer, and the independent broker-dealer and RIA channels where capital ultimately gets committed, translating Rex's underwriting discipline and track record into offerings that clear home-office diligence and win shelf space.

You will architect the systems, share class structures, and wholesaling cadence that convert a single distribution agreement into durable, compounding capital flow, and you will build and lead the internal and external wholesaling bench that carries that reach to top-producing representatives and advisors nationally. This is a hands-on, principal-level role for an operator who has built distribution from the ground up and wants to own the full arc from due diligence approval to closed commitment. Must be missionary to the bone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retain and manage a managing broker-dealer relationship, positioning Rex offerings to clear third-party due diligence approvals and home-office product committees.
  • Build and maintain Rex's presence on approved sponsor shelves, engineering expedited review pathways for subsequent offerings once initial approvals are secured.
  • Execute and manage selling agreements with independent broker-dealers and hybrid advisory platforms, expanding the number of active channels raising capital for Rex.
  • Architect share class structures that serve commission-based representatives and fee-based advisors through a single desk, removing friction from the sales process across channel types.
  • Extend Rex's distribution reach onto alternative investment platforms to widen access for advisors and representatives.
  • Partner with acquisitions and legal counsel to structure multifamily assets into Delaware Statutory Trusts for 1031 exchange investors.
  • Develop and manage Reg D income fund and Qualified Opportunity Zone fund offerings, giving advisors a home for client liquidity events including business sales and concentrated stock positions.
  • Wholesale directly to top-producing representatives and wealth advisors, building and maintaining a pipeline of relationships that convert into recurring capital commitments.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing internal and external wholesaling bench, scaling distribution reach beyond personal bandwidth.
  • Maintain fluency in Reg BI, fiduciary standards, and the regulatory dynamics governing broker-dealer and RIA distribution, ensuring all activity is compliant and defensible.
  • Track pipeline activity, channel performance, and capital raised by channel, reporting results with the same rigor Rex applies to its investments.
  • Serve as a principal-level representative of Rex to due diligence teams, managing broker-dealers, and platform gatekeepers, building the credibility that sustains long-term shelf presence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of experience in alternative investment distribution, with a proven record raising capital through broker-dealer and hybrid RIA channels.
  • Direct experience distributing Delaware Statutory Trusts, private REITs, or Reg D real estate offerings.
  • Established relationships with home-office due diligence teams, managing broker-dealers, and third-party diligence firms.
  • Command of Reg BI and fiduciary dynamics across commission-based and fee-based advisory channels.
  • Fluency in 1031 exchange, DST, and Qualified Opportunity Zone mechanics, and the ability to translate that fluency into advisor-ready product structures.
  • Active FINRA registrations required.
  • Track record of building and leading a wholesaling function, including recruiting and managing an internal or external wholesaling team.
  • Principal-level credibility with due diligence teams, managing broker-dealers, and platform gatekeepers.
  • Builder mentality: an architect of distribution systems and infrastructure, not solely a relationship-driven fundraiser.
  • Protects investor trust with fiduciary discipline and holds team performance to uncompromising standards.
  • Comfortable operating across regulatory, structuring, and sales functions simultaneously, translating complex product mechanics into advisor and investor conviction.
  • Missionary mindset: fully aligned with Rex's mission and relentless in pursuit of it.
