Manager, U.S. Life Information Systems

About the Role:

Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) is seeking a Manager, U.S. Life Information Systems to lead a team responsible for business analysis, application delivery, quality assurance coordination, and operational support for assigned Private Client Life and U.S. Life Insurance applications. This role serves as a strategic partner to business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring application enhancements, production support activities, and technology initiatives are delivered effectively and aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership capabilities with expertise in business analysis, application delivery, Agile methodologies, stakeholder engagement, production support, and vendor management. This position works closely with business partners, Product Owners, developers, QA teams, architecture, Information Security, and external vendors to deliver high-quality, scalable technology solutions while maintaining application stability and operational excellence.

Essential Functions:

Lead Business Analysis & Requirements Delivery

  • Lead Business Systems Analysts in developing clear, complete, and traceable requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and solution documentation.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to define scope, business value, risks, process improvements, and practical technology solutions.

  • Promote consistent business analysis standards, solution validation, and understanding of supported applications, integrations, and downstream impacts.

Lead Delivery Execution

  • Manage projects, application enhancements, operational initiatives, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and stakeholder communications.

  • Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA teams, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to prioritize, refine, estimate, and prepare work for execution.

  • Support Agile and Scrum practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, story reviews, delivery planning, and retrospectives.

Support Application Operations, Stability & Change Governance

  • Oversee ongoing application support, issue triage, defect review, enhancement intake, service requests, and stakeholder communications for assigned applications.

  • Prioritize production issues, recurring problems, operational risks, and support needs through resolution.

  • Partner with application, business, vendor, QA, and Information Security teams on incident management, root cause analysis, testing, release readiness, operational handoff, and SDLC/change compliance.

Lead Teams, Vendors & Stakeholder Relationships

  • Set goals, expectations, responsibilities, deadlines, and performance plans aligned with business and strategic priorities.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance management, development support, and work assignments based on business priorities and team capacity.

  • Build strong relationships with business partners, IT leadership, vendors, project teams, and stakeholders while supporting onboarding, knowledge transfer, and collaboration.

Drive Continuous Improvement, Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Monitor budgets, expenses, standards, governance practices, and continuous improvement initiatives to support delivery commitments.

  • Maintain standards for business analysis deliverables, project documentation, intake processes, reporting, delivery governance, and SDLC/change expectations.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline intake, reporting, documentation, testing coordination, and operational processes.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 7+ years of relevant IT experience, including business analysis, application support, SDLC delivery, technology implementation, or production support.

  • 3+ years of leadership, supervisory, project management, or delivery management experience.

  • Experience working within life insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.

  • Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies.

  • Experience collaborating with remote teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft Planner preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
