Responsibilities:Technology Operations Leadership:- Provide day-to-day leadership for all infrastructure and technical services teams, including:
- Server / cloud operations
- Network and wireless infrastructure
- Telecommunications / phone systems
- Desktop support and endpoint services
- Hardware lifecycle management
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of all infrastructure systems.
- Establish operational standards, KPIs, and service level expectations for all technical teams.
- Collaborate with Clinical Informatics leadership to ensure seamless integration between infrastructure and clinical systems (EHR, clinical applications, device connectivity).
Infrastructure & Engineering:- Oversee architecture, implementation, and lifecycle management of:
- Data center and cloud environments (e.g., Azure/M365)
- Network infrastructure, including segmentation and resiliency
- Telecommunications platforms and patient access technologies
- Ensure systems are patched, monitored, and optimized for performance and security.
- Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, hardware refresh, and infrastructure standardization.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management:- Partner with the VP/CIO/CISO to operationalize cybersecurity strategy.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of:
- Security controls, monitoring, and response capabilities
- Vulnerability management and patching programs
- Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Support security incident response and risk mitigation activities.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulatory and security requirements.
Service Delivery & End-User Experience:- Oversee service desk and desktop support functions to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
- Drive improvements in end-user experience, including response times, communication, and service quality.
- Ensure incident management processes are documented, followed, and continuously improved.
Financial & Resource Management:- Develop and manage infrastructure and operations budgets in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Ensure cost-effective use of technology resources, including vendor management and contract oversight.
- Participate in capital planning, prioritization, and lifecycle management of infrastructure assets.
Project & Vendor Management:- Lead and support infrastructure-related projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for support, escalation, and service delivery.
- Evaluate new technologies and solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Documentation & Governance:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure, systems, and processes.
- Support IT governance, policy development, and compliance initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic planning and technology roadmaps in alignment with organizational priorities.
Human Resources: - Responsible for working with the Human Resources Department in the hiring/interview/onboarding process. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels. Trains, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff on performance expectations. Applies progressive discipline when appropriate. Participates in hiring and termination procedures.
- Complete annual and probationary evaluations and required employee job competency documentation.
- Responsible for managing the review and approval of the timekeeping system, including but not limited to, time off requests, and bi-weekly payroll sign-off. Responsible for managing staff meal breaks to be in compliance with NYS labor law.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing technical team.
- Build leadership bench strength to support organizational growth and succession planning.

Additional Responsibilities:Supervisory Responsibilities:Minimum Qualifications:Education, Training & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Healthcare IT, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible IT experience, including leadership of technical teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing:
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Network infrastructure and cloud environments
- Enterprise systems and endpoint support
- IT operations in a healthcare or similarly complex environment
- Experience with IT budgeting, vendor management, and project delivery
Certifications / Licensure:- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
