About the roleThe Technical Accounting Manager serves as The Nuclear Company's in-house technical accounting resource, researching, evaluating, and documenting U.S. GAAP positions for complex and non-routine transactions. This role focuses heavily on revenue recognition for long-term EPC and construction contracts, as well as accounting for joint ventures and project financing structures, including strategic partnerships such as TNC's partnership with Brookfield. The Technical Accounting Manager also monitors emerging accounting standards and ensures the company remains ahead of new guidance relevant to fleet-scale nuclear deployment.
Responsibilities- Researching and documenting GAAP positions for complex, non-routine transactions
- Owning revenue recognition policy for long-term EPC/construction contracts (ASC 606/912)
- Accounting for joint-venture and partnership structures (e.g., equity method) or VIE consolidation
- Monitoring and implementing new accounting standards & policies
- Partnering with external auditors on technical accounting positions
- Building a technical accounting memo library and review process
- Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate technical accounting research, summarize new accounting guidance, draft technical accounting memoranda, and improve the consistency and quality of accounting documentation
Experience- 6+ years of experience including Big 4 public accounting plus industry technical accounting
- Active CPA required
- Deep knowledge of ASC 606/912 (long-term contracts/construction), business combinations, and equity method investments
- Strong technical accounting writing skills
- Experience partnering directly with external auditors on complex positions
Preferred Experience- Energy, infrastructure, or construction industry experience
- Hands-on project finance or JV accounting experience
- Percentage-of-completion accounting exposure
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled tools and modern accounting technologies to improve research efficiency, documentation quality, and financial reporting processes

Estimated Starting Salary RangeThe estimated starting salary range for this role is $118,000 - $140,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company's discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
