Your role at VantiveWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Compliance & Reporting team. Reporting to the Global Tax Planning Director, this role will coordinate the preparation and review of U.S. federal and state income tax filings, assist with U.S. and global tax provision processes under ASC 740, and support strategic tax initiatives across jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring strong U.S. federal and state technical tax knowledge (with a desire to expand into non-US taxation), leadership capabilities, and a passion for process improvement and technology integration.
What you'll be doingTax Compliance
- Lead with the review of book-to-tax adjustments for consolidated U.S. federal income tax returns.
- Prepare and review state apportionment schedules and modification calculations for accurate U.S. state corporate income tax filings.
- Manage the preparation and review of the U.S. federal and state income tax returns.
- Coordinate with external service providers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and payments.
- Calculate, review, and manage quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments.
- Assist with Vantive's ad hoc tax-related compliance needs (e.g., Form W-8, W-9, or 1042 reporting)
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on tax compliance and reporting.
Tax Provision and Reporting
- Assist with the global annual effective tax rate (AETR), U.S. state tax blended rate, and cash tax forecasting processes.
- Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual global income tax provision calculations under ASC 740, including footnotes.
- Prepare and review tax accounting journal entries.
- Analyze current and deferred tax positions, including FIN 48 reserves and valuation allowances.
- Review international tax provisions in coordination with non-U.S. tax teams and external advisors.
- Assist with preparation and review of documentation to support SOX compliance.
Technology and Process Improvement
- Leverage OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, Power BI, Alteryx, and AI tools to enhance productivity and reporting.
- Assist in developing and maintaining tax-related policies and procedures.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards and assess their impact.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior tax staff, providing technical support and career development.
- Manage workload distribution and project timelines within the tax compliance and reporting team.
Other
- Researching federal, state, and local taxation and transfer pricing issues.
- Stay abreast of federal and state legislative changes that may impact tax filings and tax provision computation, and assist in education of key stakeholders.
- Assist with modelling of tax reform/business changes and related impact on federal and state taxes.
What you'll bring- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or advanced degree in Taxation preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant tax compliance and provision experience, with either a public accounting firm or a multinational corporation's in-house tax department.
- Background in U.S. federal and state tax compliance and ASC 740 required.
- Experience with OneSource tax software. ERP systems knowledge (JDE, FCCS, Planful) is a plus.
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Excel, Words, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficiency in workflow tools such as Alteryx and Power BI is a plus.
- Self-starter who takes initiative while seeking appropriate guidance.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Tax, Finance, Accounting, Treasury and other departments in the U.S. and other countries.

At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $115,000 to $145,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
