Full Job Description
Your Impact:
  • Talent Recruitment & Team Leadership: Drive the end-to-end recruitment process and mentor the field recruitment team to maximize their potential. Innovate recruitment strategies to enhance efficiency from candidate attraction to final onboarding.
  • Strategic Collaboration & Process Improvement: Partner closely with Talent Operations to refine recruitment tools, workflows, and Applicant Tracking System processes. Monitor and update key recruitment metrics to continuously optimize hiring practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Work directly with department and field operations managers to forecast ongoing hiring needs. Provide hands-on support and training to hiring managers regarding recruitment best practices and structured interviewing.
  • Brand & Network Development: Amplify GFL's market presence by empowering your team to leverage strategic industry partnerships. Develop targeted talent attraction initiatives to engage top-tier candidates and boost employer brand visibility.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Maintain full compliance across all recruitment activities by ensuring strict adherence to Canadian labor laws and regulations. Represent GFL at career events, trade shows, and job fairs to position the company as an employer of choice.


What You Bring:
  • Experience: 5+ years of senior-level recruitment management experience, specifically specializing in high-volume, field, or industrial hiring environments.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and managing recruitment staff ranging from entry-level coordinators to senior recruiters.
  • Tech Savvy: Advanced expertise using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), with direct hands-on experience using Workday and related HR databases.
  • Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of provincial and federal US labor legislation, compliance standards, and recruitment best practices.
  • Operational Mobility: Willingness and capability to forge strong, in-person operational partnerships with field teams across US (30% travel)
