Nebraska Medicine is building a new System Security Services department, and we're looking for an experienced security leader to help shape what comes next. As the System Security Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in establishing and leading enterprise physical security operations across hospitals, clinics, and other Nebraska Medicine locations. This is an exciting opportunity to help build the department, develop teams and processes, strengthen security technology and response capabilities, and partner with clinical and operational leaders to create a consistent, evidence-based culture of safety. You'll lead a growing team while helping recruit and develop future security staff and ensuring our security operations are prepared to protect patients, visitors, colleagues, facilities, and the broader Nebraska Medicine community. • Candidate must live in Nebraska or Iowa
• This is a hybrid position, must be able to work on campus
• Preferred consideration will be given to applicants with Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), or similar professional certification

The System Security Operations Manager provides comprehensive oversight and management of Nebraska Medicine's enterprise physical security operations. The role leads assigned security personnel and oversees the Physical Security Control Center, security systems and security technology, visitor management, operational training compliance, and related security infrastructure across hospitals, ambulatory clinics, and other Nebraska Medicine locations. The manager coordinates the delivery of physical security technology services with internal and external business partners and ensures assigned personnel carry out their duties to protect colleagues, patients, visitors, property, and facilities. The role supports the preservation of peace; the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes; emergency and incident response; and other activities related to the welfare and safety of the Nebraska Medicine healthcare community. This role collaborates with clinical, operational, and support teams to advance a consistent, evidence-based safety and crisis prevention culture across the organization.

Required Qualifications: Manager, System Security Services
• Associate's degree in criminal justice, security management, public administration, business administration, or a related field required. High school diploma or equivalent combined with two additional years of relevant healthcare security experience may be substituted for the degree.
• Minimum five years of experience in security, law enforcement, or emergency management required.
• Minimum three years of leadership experience required.
• Experience managing or operating security technology and systems, such as access control, video surveillance, incident reporting, and emergency communication or response systems, required.
• Proven experience in emergency preparedness and incident response in healthcare or other critical infrastructure required.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission (TJC) regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards related to hospital security required.
• Ability to implement short- and long-term security strategies required.
• Experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments required.
• Familiarity with healthcare-specific security policies and compliance standards, including HIPAA and TJC requirements, required.
• Ability to lead during crises such as lockdowns, evacuations, and emergency responses required.
• Ability to engage effectively with leadership, colleagues, contracted security entities, law enforcement, emergency responders, and other external partners required.
• Skill in handling sensitive interpersonal situations involving safety, visitor control, and colleague incidents required.

Preferred Qualifications: Manager, System Security Services
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Hospital security or hospital leadership experience preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), or similar professional certification preferred.
