Job Summary:

Accountable for managing the delivery of safe, effective and efficient nursing services and patient care throughout the PAR (Procedure Arrival Recovery). PAR provides care for patients requiring pre and post-surgical care, Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Service (RAAPS) patients, monitored RN sedation in the Minor Procedure Area, and the extended recovery service located in the PAR. This accountability is exercised by assessing, monitoring, reviewing, planning, organizing, implementing, managing and evaluating processes, workflows and functions that provide nursing and patient care according to accepted standards of practice and performance. Responsible for the day-to-day management of PAR operations and providing team leadership to the clinic staff. Monitors patient and PAR workflow to ensure efficient patient care and cost effective operation of the department. This individual is responsible for defining and achieving service and quality outcomes that are sensitive to nursing and patient care. This individual is responsible for assessing needs, planning and allocating nursing and other patient care resources.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Minimum of 3 years progressively more responsible related work experience in a leadership role is required. Related work experience in the Perioperative Environment is preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Degree in Nursing (Baccalaureate or Graduate) is required. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with various hospital personnel when gathering and exchanging information, and with subordinates in providing effective leadership. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
