Overview

Responsible for the continuous identification, development and management of a diversified supply chain that supports company goals and initiatives. Establishes and manages relationships with qualified suppliers and monitors vendor performance. Oversees sourcing, request-for-quotes, quote analysis, cost negotiation, purchase order and delivery schedule releases, expediting, supplier performance and cost reduction programs. Manages staff and oversees operations within the procurement team.

Responsibilities

  • Studies market trends, interviews and negotiates prices and terms with suppliers. Initiates supplier leads utilizing national purchasing programs and preferred vendors. Recommends sources of supply; analyzes and acts upon quotations received, selects and awards business to suppliers.
  • Develops and enforces enterprise purchasing policies and processes to align with the company's strategic supply chain goals and initiatives.
  • Determines and leads appropriate supplier specific ongoing monitoring plan with cross-functional teams with focus on operational business review meetings, issue management reviews, performance score carding, contract management reviews, risk management reviews etc.
  • Establishes strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to strategically develop, implement and optimize supplier management processes, tools, and policies to achieve performance objectives and mitigate risk.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders on key initiatives to identify product and service requirements pertaining to equipment requirements, productivity and process improvements, and cost reductions.
  • Leads Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Quote (RFQ) exercises, compiles results, completes comparisons, and makes recommendations that help business leaders make sourcing decisions.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and negotiates supplier agreements. Performs detailed contract reviews to ensure business and legal terms are aligned with company objectives while ensuring the best cost and services are provided.
  • Recruits, selects, hires and evaluates performance of personnel to ensure all department needs are handled appropriately. Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs and other resources as required for professional advancement.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in Procurement and supervisory experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Management experience.
