Occupational SummaryThe Project Manager, DUHS is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of projects aligned with the strategic and business goals of the health system. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within the assigned budget, and strictly within scope.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Scope Management- Project Initialization: Work with internal stakeholders and external clients to define project parameters, scope, and the process required to bring the project to fruition.
- Timeline Development: Create accurate timelines for project completion, ensuring tasks are finished and milestones are reached within the confines of the assignment.
- Scope Control: Proactively recognize and address scope creep, bringing the project back into alignment with the agreements made during the planning phase.
- Risk Mitigation: Anticipate delays, understand potential project risks, and recommend necessary changes to timelines and actions to the project team, clients, and all stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Execution- Team Assembly: Assemble and lead a team capable of meeting or exceeding client expectations. Assign team members to specific tasks.
- Mentorship & Accountability: Guide, coach, motivate, and re-orient the team as needed. Hold the project team strictly accountable for assigned tasks and meeting deadlines (may include direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities).
- Adaptability: Adapt to shifts in business priorities and work conditions. Think creatively and actively solicit diverse perspectives to keep the project on track when challenges arise.
Budget & Data Management- Financial Oversight: Manage the project budget with a focus on cost efficiencies and alignment with predetermined spending limits. May hold discretionary responsibility for reviewing costs outside of the budget.
- Data Tracking: Collect, curate, and manage all data related to project costs, milestone completions, and project outcomes as the project progresses, advising on necessary actions.
Stakeholder Communication & Post-Project Evaluation- Communication: Maintain open and honest communication, ensuring a positive team dynamic. Clearly communicate cost implications and changes to timelines/budgets to all client and stakeholder groups.
- Evaluation: Upon project completion, evaluate efficiency and effectiveness. Identify gaps and plan ways to fix similar issues in the future.
- Recognition: Highlight project successes, recap positive outcomes, and provide recognition for team members who excelled during the project.

- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to communicate clearly and build bridges across diverse stakeholder groups, from the executive to the front-line level.

- Organization & Autonomy: Able to set priorities, organize, and manage multiple tasks independently with an extremely strong attention to detail.

Minimum QualificationsEducation- Required: Work requires communications, analytical, and organizational skills generally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program.
- Preferred: An advanced degree.
Experience- Required: Four (4) years of related experience planning and delivering on project objectives and directing team activities toward strategic goals (or any equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience).
- Preferred: Five (5) or more years of professional experience managing complex deliverables and coordinating the activities of diverse stakeholder groups.
Licensures & Certifications- Preferred: Project Management Certification (PMP or similar).
