Position Summary

Cambrian College is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as Manager Student Success. Reporting to the Director, Marketing, Recruitment and Student Success, this role is critical in providing leadership for strategic initiatives that enhance student access, transition, retention and success across the College.
Duties and Responsibilities

The Manager, Student Success serves as a central coordinator for college-wide student success initiatives, fostering collaboration among internal partners and external community partners to ensure an integrated and seamless student experience.

The Manager, Student Success will be responsible for:

OPAIP Project Leadership and Ministry Accountability
  • Leads the planning, implementation, administrations and evaluation of the Ontario Post Secondary Access and Inclusion Program (OPAIP)
  • Oversees ministry reporting requirements, funding agreements, accountability measure, budgets and audits
  • Coordinates outreach, access, transition and persistence initiative for students facing barriers to post-secondary education
  • Gathers and analyses data, disseminates findings and prepares reports
Student Retention Research, Analysis and Strategic Initiatives
  • Analyses enrolment, progression, withdrawal and graduation trends to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develops evidence-based recommendations to improve student engagement and persistence
  • Collaborates with Institutional Research to evaluate student success indicators and key performance measures
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessment, data analysis and reporting
College-wide Student Success Coordination and Departmental Leadership
  • Leads cross-functional working groups responsible for advancing student success, retention and Strategic Enrolment Management priorities
  • Collaborates with academic leaders, service departments and external partners to develop an implement integrated student success initiatives
  • Supports departmental planning activities including annual operational planning, business planning, strategic initiatives and performance reporting.
Project Management, Budget Administration and Reporting
  • Develops, administers and monitors department and project budgets including the OPAIP operating budget, ensuring responsible financial stewardship and compliance with College and Ministry requirements
  • Monitors expenditures, forecasts budget requirements and recommends resource allocations to support departmental priorities.
Event/Activity Management
  • Lead/manage all related activities as outlined in the First Step Centres plan/objectives such as the OPAIP priority workshops/on campus awareness activities, and all OPAIP project activities as outlined in the approved OPAIP plan
  • Report on effectiveness and reach associated with all activities to ensure the colleges resources and budget allocations are being met

Qualifications

  • Must have a four year degree preferably in business, social sciences or education, or a combination of relevant education and experience (a copy of educational documents must be submitted with the application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
  • Must have (5) five years experience developing, implementing and evaluating strategic initiatives that support student access, transition, retention, persistence and overall student success
  • Must have experience managing provincially or externally funded programs, including funding proposals, contract administrations, performance measurements, accountability reporting and compliance with funding agreements
  • Be enthusiastic, positive, and goal-oriented with exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the establishment of performance targets, the evaluation of progress, and the initiation and implementation of change to achieve goals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) as well as contact/lead tracking system.
  • Strong team builder with the talent to foster and maintain effective working relationships throughout the College as well as with external partners.
Additional Assets/Preferred:
  • Sound knowledge of Cambrian College.
  • Experience working in a postsecondary institution.
