Manager, Structural EngineeringRole Purpose As Manager, Structural Engineering you will lead the structural design that makes LA28 venues safe, sound, and ready for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. You will guide internal and external engineers and consultants across temporary infrastructure and renovation projects, while meeting codes and Health and Safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities - Lead structural engineering design and development, directing internal and external engineers and consultants across temporary infrastructure and renovation projects.
- Analyze existing infrastructure to determine supplemental structural improvements, and integrate structural designs into the venue design with architects and engineers.
- Develop design guides that adapt IOC requirements to local practice, and prepare the structural portion of venue design books from concept through construction drawings.
- Manage the review process to milestones and oversee an installation team during operations and maintenance, ensuring Health and Safety compliance.
- Partner across Energy, Technology, Villages, Finance, and Procurement to integrate requirements and support Permitting, Risk Management, and Event Operations.
Required Competencies - 5 years of experience with structural engineering infrastructure design and construction.
- An accredited bachelor's degree in structural engineering.
- Experience leading diverse teams on complex infrastructure projects and managing external consultants.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering tools - Revit and AutoCAD - with command of collaboration tools such as Office360, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Autodesk Cloud.
- Experience with key industry codes and standards, structural engineering activities, and project management fundamentals - scope, schedule, and budget.
Valued Experience - A Professional Engineering (PE) license in California, and Project Management or Construction certifications.
- Experience in U.S. and California design and construction, including large events with temporary infrastructure and rigging.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions - Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
- Most work is in an office setting, using computers, phones, and other equipment for extended periods.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle setting.
- Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
- Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve and may include operational responsibilities during the Games.
Compensation The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $155,000 The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
