Overview

The Manager is accountable for setting team priorities, managing the analytics portfolio, establishing delivery and quality standards, and ensuring the team has the direction, tools, and support needed to execute effectively. The role partners closely with business leaders and subject-matter experts to clarify needs, define requirements, resolve data or scope limitations, and translate business questions into practical reporting and analytics solutions.

This position also maintains sufficient technical depth to guide solution design, review analytical deliverables, reinforce metric and reporting governance, and support adoption of self-service analytics capabilities. Through effective coaching, prioritization, and cross-functional communication, the Manager helps build a high-performing analytics function that delivers reliable insights and improves organizational understanding of performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver strategic analytics, intelligence, and data products that translate enterprise priorities and business needs into scalable, actionable solutions.
• Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate analytics team members, including workload management, performance feedback, onboarding, career development, and succession support.
• Set team priorities, allocate resources, manage competing demands, and ensure timely delivery of analytics projects, reporting products, and strategic initiatives.
• Translate organizational goals, operational needs, and stakeholder priorities into a governed analytics roadmap, reporting portfolio, and actionable project requirements.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of governed dashboards, semantic models, KPI reporting, and analytical solutions.
• Establish and enforce standards for metric definitions, calculation methodologies, documentation, data validation, quality assurance, access, and reporting lifecycle management.
• Review deliverables for analytical accuracy, technical quality, usability, scalability, and alignment with data governance and business standards.
• Partner with leaders and subject-matter experts across business functions to gather requirements, manage expectations, resolve scope or data limitations, and mitigate delivery risks.
• Maintain sufficient technical depth to guide solution design, evaluate architecture, support complex analysis, and communicate insights that help leaders understand performance, business drivers, and opportunities.

Additional Job Functions:

• Support user education, training, and adoption of governed self-service analytics tools, datasets, and reporting resources.
• Assist with the consolidation or retirement of duplicative, legacy, or low-value reporting in coordination with stakeholders.
• Maintain and update report inventories, process documentation, training materials, and related governance resources.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, planning sessions, and process improvement efforts related to analytics, reporting, and business performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in analytics, data science, information systems, computer science, business, finance, healthcare administration, or a related field is required.
  Master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, data management, or a related field is required, including two or more years leading employees, project teams, or a significant analytics program.
• Experience managing multiple analytical projects, stakeholders, and competing business priorities is required.
• Experience establishing reporting standards, development processes, data governance practices, or reporting lifecycle controls is required.
• Experience in healthcare, multisite operations, or another complex operating environment is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, data modeling, semantic models, and business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Sigma is required.
• Strong people leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills are required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage an analytics portfolio, prioritize resources, and balance strategic and operational work is required.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical oversight, support reporting and KPI governance, and drive change management and adoption is required.
• Working knowledge of healthcare claims and EMR/EHR data, including familiarity with common data structures, clinical and administrative data elements, coding systems, and the opportunities and limitations of each data source for analytics and decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies, including AI, and translate them into practical applications that improve analytics capabilities, accelerate delivery, and create measurable business value.
