Full Job Description
We are looking for a Strategic Cost and Business Intelligence Manager to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Director, Supply Chain and will be based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role5 days a week.

We're looking for a hands-on, system-minded to help build and run the cost management operating system for a growing industrial manufacturing business. You will own the process for cost reduction: how cost is measured, prioritized, reviewed, communicated, and removed from our products as we scale. This role is accountable for translating cost accounting rigor into repeatable, cross-functional execution that delivers sustained results. This is a high-impact role for someone who loves structure, thrives in ambiguity and creating operating discipline within, and knows how to turn cost insight into operational outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Own and continuously improve the company's standard cost management framework, including cost standards and definitions, KPIs, dashboards, governance routines, review cadence, and escalation paths.
  • Build simple, repeatable business processes that scale alongside volume growth and internal manufacturing expansion.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance to identify primary cost drivers, prioritize opportunities, and lead structured cost-out initiatives (e.g., value engineering, should-cost, make-vs-buy, manufacturing optimization).
  • Facilitate focused working sessions and deep dives to surface opportunities, align priorities, and drive follow-through.
  • Ensure cost initiatives move from analysis to execution and verified impact.
  • Build and maintain clear, decision-oriented cost dashboards that highlight product cost structure, trends, and drivers.
  • Apply cost accounting discipline to validate savings, track performance vs targets, and support planning and forecasting.
  • Translate complex cost data into concise, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Embed cost considerations into product development, sourcing strategies, capital decisions, and capacity planning.
  • Influence leaders by presenting compelling, data-driven business cases tied to operational realities.
  • Support long-term cost strategy, including vertical integration decisions, supplier negotiations, and product roadmap tradeoffs.
  • Coach and develop analysts; raise the bar on analytical rigor, standardization, and storytelling.
  • Serve as a force multiplier for the Director by driving execution details, follow-ups, and consistency.
  • Establish and enforce team norms for outputs, cadence, and quality.

Skills and Experience:
  • Strong foundation in cost accounting, product costing, and financial analysis.
  • Experience designing or running operational business processes, workflows, or management systems.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing cost structures, supply chain dynamics, and industrial processes.
  • Ability to quickly learn complex electromechanical systems and production environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without formal authority.
  • Comfortable creating accountability through structure, cadence, and clarity.
  • Effective communicator with engineers, operators, and executives alike.
  • Systems thinker who enjoys building order where none exists.
  • Pragmatic and results-driven; focused on what actually changes behavior.
  • Comfortable operating in an environment that is rapidly evolving to match the pace of growth
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, operations, or product cost management.
  • Experience in product-centric manufacturing environments where cost discipline is essential to competitiveness, such as:
    • Automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
    • Appliances, HVAC, or white goods
    • Industrial equipment or power electronics
    • Consumer hardware with internal manufacturing
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, value engineering, or continuous improvement methodologies.
