Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Manager for the Test & Project Support team in Software Engineering. This role will be responsible for providing team leadership in support of the software test, validation and verification of the Axiom flight software. This position will work closely with various software developers, systems engineers, software safety, software architects, and other test teams as needed to define the infrastructure for our software test plans and platform.

This role will lead a team of software developers to design and develop systems that meet delivery milestones, schedule, and reduce costs. This position will develop, maintain, and implement processes improvements to assist in product development, team development. Other duties will be assigned as required.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and lead a team of software engineers to design and develop the Axiom Software test framework
  • Collaborate with other software and hardware team to identify improvements to our design
  • Collaborate with hardware test teams as needed
  • Participate and provide input to yearly reviews for team members
  • Collaborate with Axiom's Software Engineering Center to identify areas of automation and technology advancements
  • Schedule deliverables according to milestones and identify opportunities for cost, schedule, and any additional resource savings
  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership
  • Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • Expertise in designing and implementing scalable test frameworks
  • Proficiency in Python, C, C++, and Bash
  • Proven leadership ability, with a track record of successfully guiding software teams
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements
  • This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
