PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Software Engineering in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Manage and lead multiple scrum teams to build customer focused software products and increase the productivity and velocity of delivery teams. Build high impact teams from ground up to deliver critical initiatives and provide technical leadership and guidance to teams of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Establish outcomes and key results (OKRs) and successfully deliver them. Drive improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop, plan, and execute engineering roadmaps that bring value and quality to our customers. Collaborate and coordinate across teams and functions to ensure technical, product, and business objectives are met. Instill end-to-end ownership of products, projects, features, modules, and services that you and your team deliver in all phases of the software development lifecycle. Utilize knowledge and experience with building large scale, high throughput, low latency systems, software development methodologies, modern technology topics and frameworks, and developer operations best practices. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus six years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus eight years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Object oriented languages including Java, J2EE, Node.js, JBoss, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Microservices, and JDBC/JPA/Hibernate - 5 Years
2. Source code management systems like Git, and container platforms like Docker - 5 Years
3. Experience using RDBMS like Oracle - 5 Years
4. Scripting with Python and Shell Scripting - 5 Years
5. Building middle tier service in HELIX/ASF/RAPTOR Framework - 5 Years
6. Building application in legacy C++ services - 5 Years
7. Building batch processing systems - 5 Years
8. Performing the role of Agile Scrum Master - 2 Years
9. Experience in reverse index tools like Elastic Search - 2 Years
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
San Jose, California | Salary: $227,639.00-300,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
