This role sits within the Financial Services segment and is focused on high-value, healthcare-specialized accounts, requiring deep engagement with complex, content-driven workflows (e.g., clinical diligence, pipeline analysis, competitive intelligence).

A Healthcare Manager is responsible for scoping, designing, and executing primary research engagements, while serving as a trusted thought partner to clients. This includes ownership of key client relationships, delivering tailored insight solutions, and driving innovation across a range of engagement types-from rapid consultation workflows to more in-depth, multi-format research solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Ownership & Account Management
  • Own and manage a book of large healthcare-specialized client accounts, serving as a strategic partner across investment teams
  • Build deep relationships with healthcare investors (e.g., analysts, PMs) by understanding:
    • Therapeutic focus areas (e.g., oncology, CNS, immunology)
    • Portfolio companies and pipelines
    • Key upcoming catalysts (e.g., clinical readouts, FDA decisions, major conferences)
  • Proactively track client interests, preferences, and workflows to inform outreach and engagement strategy
  • Drive best-in-class client engagement through a mix of in-person meetings, calls, and day-to-day execution

2. Driving Client Experience & Commercial Growth
  • Deliver world-class client service, defined by responsiveness, insight, professionalism, and execution excellence
  • Identify opportunities to expand client engagement and cross-sell broader GLG offerings
  • Partner with leadership and business development to:
    • Develop and execute account growth strategies
    • Drive revenue expansion and client retention
  • Track account performance and continuously refine engagement strategy to optimize outcomes

3. Team Leadership & Development
  • Coach, mentor, and develop junior team members through active performance management and day-to-day guidance
  • Serve as a role model for excellence in healthcare client servicing and project execution
  • Contribute to team development by sharing best practices in healthcare coverage, expert sourcing, and client engagement

4. Risk Management & Compliance
  • Exercise strong judgment in adhering to GLG's policies and procedures, particularly in the context of:
    • Material non-public information (MNPI)
    • Clinical and regulatory sensitivities
  • Ensure the integrity and compliance of all client engagements

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a healthcare subject
  • 2-4+ years of experience in a client-facing role, ideally with exposure to healthcare or financial services clients
  • Strong interest in or familiarity with the healthcare sector (biopharma, clinical development, or healthcare services preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven track record of relationship ownership and client service excellence
  • Exceptional communication skills, including comfort engaging senior healthcare professionals and investors
  • Strong analytical mindset and demonstrated ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
