Job Summary:

The Manager, Senior Portfolio Consultant II plays a critical role in overseeing the Portfolio Consulting department within markets, managing a team of direct reports, and ensuring the effective management of investment portfolios. Working closely with Wealth Advisors, Operations, Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Trading departments, this role drives strategic alignment and exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities include leading strategic initiatives, resolving bottlenecks, analyzing team reporting, managing day-to-day workflow, and communicating progress to leadership. Additionally, this role oversees resource allocation within the division, mentors Portfolio Consultants, and contributes to the growth and excellence of investment management services within the organization.

Essential Job Functions for the Manager, Senior Portfolio Consultant II will include:

Team Management & Leadership
  • Lead and oversee a team of Portfolio Consultants, providing guidance, coaching, and support to maximize team performance.
  • Strategically plan and allocate resources to optimize capacity and ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, driving process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices to build on the team's skills and abilities.

Concierge Level Service & Communication
  • Communicate investment philosophy and available investment strategies clearly and effectively.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery is being provided for Wealth Advisor Teams and end clients across all Portfolio Consultants.
  • Must have the ability to work both independently as well as within a team on multiple time-sensitive projects with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Lead presentations on various investment topics to Wealth Advisor teams.

Knowledge of Investment Management
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of capital markets and portfolio design & management.
  • Expertise in investment vehicles, models and platform, including public and private markets.

Manage Efficient Process & Workflows
  • Take ownership of managing standardized workflows and investment processes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Implement department or firm-level process improvements to increase efficiency and enhance client experience.
  • Handle trade corrections and implement processes to reduce trade errors.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree required, CFP, CFA or advanced degree a plus
  • Series 65 required
  • Minimum 4-10 years preferred of related experience in financial services
  • Experience leading and managing a team of direct reports
  • Working knowledge of Orion and Morningstar preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required, including advanced data analytics
  • Strong problem-solving experience and skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and highly collaborative approach
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

Work Schedule: Daytime and evening hours as needed

Travel: Estimate 5% - 10% travel

Working Conditions: Professional office environment. Working inside. Standing and sitting. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
