Job Overview

The Manager, Sales Compensation is responsible for developing strategic and systematic processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of compensation solutions to support the Sales and Service organization. The position maintains a big picture view of the divisions to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of automated solutions and systematized processes. Leads the Sales Compensation Analyst team in supporting the Sales Compensation infrastructure, associated tools, and the execution of Sales Compensation Plans. Candidates must be willing to work EST hours.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
  • Manages, coaches, and develops the Sales Compensation Analysts including setting goals and objectives, performance management, and training and development.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of sales systems and has the ability to work efficiently within team environments. Collaborates with leadership to provide suggestions and opportunities for system and process Improvement on a regular basis.
  • Provides system solutions and processes to support the Sales and Service Unit in collaboration with Sales Reporting and Analytics and business leadership.
  • Actively assists in designing, modeling, and implementing commission and sales incentive plans.
  • Works with various stakeholders, including business unit, sales, and finance to understand critical business objectives, drivers and desired outcomes of statistical analyses and has a high level of expertise on operational sales activities and related applications.
  • Performs complex analysis and review of sales and legal requirements for the purpose of executing commission and bonus payments.
  • Develop tools and dashboards that communicate compensation performance
  • Manages the integration of Getinge Canada sales compensation plans with the Getinge USA sales system and structure.
  • Actively manage compensation audits prior to submission to Payroll and validating sales compensation systems.
  • Prepare analytical reports to share with the team and field users, ensuring data is accurate and includes appropriate details.
  • Develops methods of tracking outliers, special commission offers, notes and other extraordinary payments.
  • Manages escalation of issues and topics relating to sales commission errors, explanations, changes in compensation plans, calculations, and other related issues.
  • Reviews proposed compensation adjustments by gathering, assessing and analyzing data and understands/ conforms to established guidelines, policies and practices.
  • Supports Global rollout of select Sales Compensation Tools and provides customizations by country.
  • Coordinates scheduled meetings with teams that the position supports in infrastructure and system improvement. This includes tools that will improve speed and accuracy of input, creating data repositories for select functions, and build reports and tools that will improve reporting of select business reviews.
  • Act as a subject matter technical expert in introducing and developing new tools and audit methods that will allow managing business in a more proactive manner.


Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors' Degree in Finance, Accounting and Mathematics, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum experience of 7 years in a Financial/Accounting/Sales Analyst role(s)
  • Functional experience of 5+ years in Financial/Sales Reporting.
  • Project Management and/or Leadership experience preferred.

  • Ability to mentor, coach and lead a team to meet goals, objectives and implement change.
  • Compensation program knowledge/experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge and applicable skills of business concepts, procedures, and practices.
  • Capable of performing the job in a quality system environment.
  • Ability to solve problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective and alternative actions.
  • Possess and exercises strong relational database management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrable experience working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Ability to meet urgent timelines and shift priorities while producing work that is accurate and reliable.
  • Must have demonstrated advanced Excel/Access skills, and the ability to interface data with new or existing software and/or applications.
  • Knowledge of CaptivateIQ or related IC Tools preferred.


Supervision/Management of Others
  • The position supervises 5-6 Sales Compensation and Sr. Sales Compensation Analysts.


Internal and External Contacts/Relationships
  • Follow up with all levels of management
  • Works with the Field Sales and Service team, the Sales Operations and Sales Reporting team and multiple other internal departments and customers.
  • External IC vendors.


Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions
  • Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions
  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments
  • May work extended hours during peak business cycles


The salary range for this position is between $145,000-$165,000 + 15% STIP per year depending on experience and location.
