OverviewJob Purpose
The Manager of Sales and Relationship Management represents the New York Stock Exchange equities and options businesses to NYSE constituents in an effort to compete for transactional market share, articulate the Exchange’s positions on critical and complex market structure topics and to partner with our clients to achieve the maximum business potential from the relationship. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, expanding and building new relationships with exchange members (including traditional sell-side dealers, retail brokers, and proprietary trading firms) and also with buy-side institutions, as well as market data subscribers.
Responsibilities
- Interacting daily with an assigned group of clients to ensure that our commercial positions and offerings are clearly understood and are being incorporated by clients to the maximum extent possible.
- Sell and upsell market data products.
- Proactively and continually developing relationships with clients is a core responsibility.
- Communicating exchange pricing and functionality changes, venue quality information and NYSE’s market structure positions to clients.
- Analyzing client activity and industry data to identify commercial opportunities.
- Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the competitive landscape is required.
- Supporting the group’s sales efforts by using and administering internal software to manage client data and track internal metrics (CRM, volume tracking reports, organizational charts, etc).
- Accurately and effectively communicating in team meetings and to executive management.
- Partnering with internal colleagues (market data, strategy, technology, futures, ETF’s) and advancing NYSE’s agenda across businesses is also a core responsibility.
- Must have the flexibility to travel for in person client meetings.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5–7 years of account management, sales, or relationship management experience.
- An understanding of either equity or options market structure is important. Experience with both asset classes is a plus.
- Intellectually curious self-starter. Winning mentality and ability to grow business through proactive client outreach to source opportunity and report back to business management.
- Ability to articulate complex issues and NYSE’s stance on the same is necessary.
- Ability to judge the appropriate way to communicate business propositions to a wide range of audiences.
- Proven ability in developing client relationships. An existing network of contacts within the sell-side and buy-side community is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional poise, judgment and a willingness to constantly maintain an educated perspective on the marketplace.
New York Base SalaryRange
The expected base salary for this role, iflocatedin New York, is between $130,000 60,000USD. Thebase salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation.
