About the team you are joining

The Global Aviation Data Management (GADM) team is responsible for the development, implementation and support of data solutions needed to monitor safety, operational and efficiency KPIs. These include:
• Managing Data Sharing Programs (IDX, FDX and MCX)
• Supporting internal and external businesses in their data, reporting and dashboard needs
• Developing a coherent approach to data visualization and analysis
• Ensuring the availability, reliability, and quality of the data and related dashboards through continuous monitoring
• Adhering to data governance policies, quality standards and best practices.

What your day would be like

You will report to the Head of Global Aviation Data Management Programs and you will:

Lead in the analysis of flight safety and operational performance data to support IATA's safety objectives and GADM members decision-making.
Oversee the development of statistical and ad-hoc analytical reports for GADM participants and IATA commercial clients.
Perform monthly validation of FDX and IDX data to ensure that accuracy and consistent levels of quality are maintained in the outputs.
Direct investigations into complex safety and operational issues and deliver clear, actionable findings for the industry.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define analysis specifications, ensuring safety event definitions and thresholds align with operational needs and industry standards.
Provide recommendations and participate in the development of strategicdirection of the GADM programs.

  • Must have at least 5 years experience in Safety Management Systems
  • B.Sc. in Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in incident investigation is an added advantage
  • High level proficiency in business intelligence softwares such as Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to write technical reports as well as Data Stories (presentations)
  • Experience in FDA/FOQA data manipulation and validation
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, report writing skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of an additional language is an asset
